If your family lives along the Centerville Road corridor in northeast Tallahassee, Vibrant Orthodontics is one of the closest orthodontic offices to home. We are about three miles away, and most drives take around seven minutes by way of Betton Road and Thomasville Road.

Our address is 1350 Thomaswood Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32308. Dr. Maryam Rezaie opened Vibrant Orthodontics in June 2021. She is a University of Florida-trained dentist who completed her orthodontic specialty training at Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics, and she has served on the board of the Leon County Dental Association.

A Close-to-Home Orthodontist for the Centerville Corridor

Being close means less time in the car and more flexibility with scheduling. Families from the neighborhoods off Centerville Road often book adjustment visits right after school because the trip is so short. That convenience adds up over the months that braces treatment lasts.

We also make visits count. Each appointment follows a plan Dr. R builds at the start of treatment, so you always know why you are coming in and what will happen next.

How Treatment Works at Vibrant Orthodontics

Here is the typical path for a new patient:

Step What happens
1. Free consult Conversation about goals, iTero digital scan, exam with Dr. R
2. Treatment plan Diagnosis, recommended option, estimated timeline, monthly payment options
3. Braces placement Brackets and wires placed; home-care instructions and supplies provided
4. Adjustments Regular check-ins every several weeks
5. Retainers Braces removed and retainers provided to protect the result

The first few days with new braces and the day they come off tend to be the moments families remember most. We walk you through both well ahead of time, so neither one comes as a surprise.

Braces for Every Age

We focus on traditional braces, primarily for kids and teens, and we welcome adults as well. Patients choose between metal brackets and clear ceramic brackets that blend with the teeth. For younger patients, braces for kids are usually timed to when enough permanent teeth have come in. Middle and high schoolers have more say in the look, and braces for teens are often where clear ceramic brackets become popular. Parents who decide to straighten their own smiles are welcome too, and adult orthodontics follows the same careful planning.

Starting Early: The Age-Seven Visit

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check by around age seven. Most children do not need treatment at that point, and they can join our free Vibrant Kids Club for growth monitoring. When a problem is best addressed early, Dr. R may recommend two-phase treatment.

Directions from Centerville Road

From Centerville Road, take Betton Road west to Thomasville Road, then head north on Thomasville Road to Thomaswood Drive. Plan on about seven minutes. We are open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Metal or Clear Ceramic: Choosing a Bracket Style

The biggest decision most families make is the look of the braces. Metal brackets are the most durable option and let kids pick new tie colors at every visit, which many younger patients love. Clear ceramic brackets are tooth-colored and far less noticeable, so older teens and adults often prefer them. Both move teeth the same way and on a similar timeline. Ceramic brackets simply reward a little extra care with staining foods and drinks.

Common Problems We Treat

Families from the Centerville Road area come to us for a wide range of concerns. The most common include crowded or overlapping teeth, gaps between teeth, overbites where the upper front teeth extend well past the lower teeth, underbites, crossbites and open bites. Each can affect how teeth wear, how easy they are to clean and how confident a child feels, and Dr. R evaluates all of them at the free consult.

Retainers and Long-Term Results

Finishing braces is a big day, but it is not the end of the story. Teeth tend to shift after braces come off, so retainers are essential. Dr. R will explain the wear schedule, and we check the fit at follow-up visits. If a retainer cracks or goes missing, call us right away instead of waiting.

Starting Treatment When You Are Ready

Some families come in knowing they want to begin right away; others want time to think. Both are fine. After the free consult you will have a written plan, and you can start when it suits your family.

If you would like to talk before visiting, you can start with a virtual consult and share a few photos from home. We will let you know what we see and whether an in-person visit is the right next step.

Whatever you decide, the consult itself carries no obligation. Many parents use it simply to understand what is going on with their child’s bite and to get a realistic sense of timing, so they can plan the next year or two with confidence.
