Born in Taiwan, Dr. Maryam Rezaie (better known as “Dr. R” ) grew up as a world traveler. Before becoming your reliable choice for orthodontics in Tallahassee, she lived in Brazil, Belgium, Macau, and China and visited many places around the globe! When she was 16, her family moved to Miami, Florida, where she graduated with honors from high school and undergraduate studies.
Dr. R completed her dental school training at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2009 and served in many leadership positions, including participating in dental mission trips to the Dominican Republic and co-founding the country’s second student chapter of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.
In 2010, she completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach, FL, where she received a Certificate of Appreciation for “exhibiting total commitment to our Veterans’ wellbeing through her dedication to providing the best treatment possible for all her patients.”
Dr. R practiced dentistry in both public health and private practice settings in Maryland for several years before deciding to pursue a path in orthodontics.
In 2013, she returned to Florida to attend Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics, where she graduated from with honors and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honors society. There, she served as both Student Vice President and Chief Resident to the orthodontic program.
After graduating, Dr. R moved to Kansas City, Kansas to work for a prestigious orthodontic practice before returning to Florida, where she worked with a renowned practice in Pensacola before starting her very own practice in Tallahassee, Vibrant Orthodontics. She absolutely adores bringing confident smiles to the Tally community & feels privileged to make a difference doing what she loves every day!

In addition to making people smile more vibrantly, we are also passionate about giving our four-legged friends a reason to wag their tails with happiness, too! That’s why we donate a portion of the proceeds of every new patient start to Leon County Humane Society, a phenomenal local non-profit we are so proud to support!
